The application of image interpretation techniques is essential in remote sensing because it allows the interaction of the interpreter and analysis of the elements contained in the image. This technique applied to the physiognomy of the Cerrado delimitation allows locate it and distinguish it from other vegetation types. The cerrado is considered a biodiversity hotspot, it has a diversity of animals and plants that are important to people living in this biome. Among the native species of the Cerrado, the pequizeiro is a kind of great historical and economic importance, protected by law and cutting vetoed. In this sense, aiming to further identify and map the pequizeiro occurrence areas in the North of Minas Gerais, the objective of this work is to define the physiognomy of the Cerrado to the detriment of others for the purpose of demarcating the area of research. This work is important because through this, we can identify areas of pequizeiro and as a result, the monitoring of the species. It was found that the savanna areas have the same characteristics in different seasons, however the areas corresponding to Mata Seca and Rupestres fields have different shades and texture with winter compared to the summer and winter is the time of year to delimit the Dry Forest areas in the satellite image because of its deciduousness.
